Man pronounced dead after ‘The Ring’ actress dumps him curbside: Report

The actress played the creepy, raven-haired Samara in the horror movie

If, like some of us, you’ve long been terrified by the creepy little girl from The Ring, the latest news probably won’t change your attitude.

Daveigh Chase, who played the raven-haired, well-dwelling Samara in the 2002 horror movie, has been arrested after she allegedly dropped off a dying man outside a Los Angeles hospital — and then drove away.

According to TMZ, Chase dropped the man off at the hospital in the early morning hours of February 15, and he was pronounced dead when hospital staff discovered him. Chase did not report the incident, and was apprehended after police followed up on a tip that she was with the man before he died, and found an outstanding warrant for an unrelated charge.

Chase was reportedly arrested in connection to the outstanding warrant but has not been charged and is not considered a suspect in the man’s death, which TMZ reported was likely being treated as an overdose.

It is unclear exactly what the actress’s relationship was to the dead man, but they would have presumably spent time together the night of Valentine’s Day. Sources told TMZ the two were “hanging out” in the hours before his death.

Since appearing in The Ring, Chase is best known for playing a sociopathic sister wife on the HBO series Big Love. She also voiced a lead character in the animated Disney movie Lilo & Stitch.
