Police: Man charged with hate crime after biting victim’s face and using anti-Muslim slurs

A Virginia man arrested and charged in November for biting another man’s face will also face a a hate crime after he reportedly called the victim anti-Muslim slurs, police confirm.

The Washington Post reports that Robin McGreer, 35, of McClean, is accused of walking up to a 31-year-old man on November 27 at the Tysons Corner Center parking lot in Fairfax, and threatened him while calling him anti-Muslim slurs. McGreer then allegedly bit the victim’s face. He fled the scene before police arrived. He was arrested the following Monday.

Fairfax police said that the victim was taken to the hospital and treated for non-life threatening injuries. They declined to release information regarding the victim’s background and ethnicity, per the police department’s policies. However, Fairfax police spokeswoman Megan Hawkins did confirm that the suspect reportedly made anti-Muslim threats and slurs towards the victim.
