Revenge Porn? Mischa Barton ex allegedly trying to sell sex tape he secretly recorded

Barton’s lawyer has accused him of a form of sexual assault

Mischa Barton has had an intense 2017 so far, and the hits keep on coming.

According to the Daily Mail, an unidentified seller has been shopping a sex tape said to be featuring the actress to pornography publishers — at a starting bid of $500,000.

Barton’s lawyer Lisa Bloom addressed the sex tape rumors in a statement posted to Facebook. Bloom did not deny the existence of a sex tape, but she made it clear that if it ever sees the light of day the person responsible will be sorry:

It has been reported that naked or sexually explicit images of Ms. Barton are being ‘shopped around.’ Ms. Barton does not consent to any disclosure of any such images. She believes that she was recorded without her consent by someone she was seeing at the time.

There’s a name for this disgusting conduct: revenge pornography. Revenge pornography is a form of sexual assault, and it is also a crime and a civil wrong in California. And we will not stand for it.

Bloom addressed the alleged pornography peddler directly in the statement: “We will come find you, and we will come after you.”

In January, the former star of The O.C. was voluntarily hospitalized after she was seen and heard making incoherent statements in her backyard, with someone witnesses claiming she was threatening suicide.

Barton later said in a statement to People magazine that someone had slipped a date rape drug into her drink when she was out with friends that night.

“This is a lesson to all young women out there, be aware of your surroundings,” she said in the statement.
