‘You’re going to get me fired’: Math teacher accused of sodomy, sexual misconduct with 10 students

He allegedly asked one female student to take lewd photos of herself with his phone

A Missouri teacher who got himself fired for felony misconduct with students tried to tell at least one of his victims she was responsible for any trouble he might face.

According to Fox News, Rodney Thomas of Cameron, Missouri, is accused of engaging in sexual misconduct with ten students under the age of 18 in incidents dating back to 2014. Thomas is facing 20 felony counts, including sodomy and statutory rape.

Until recently, Thomas was a math teacher and wrestling coach in the Maysville School District. He was suspended due to the allegations. A call from the school district to the sheriff’s office prompted an investigation.

Thomas is accused of targeting victims between the ages of 13 and 17, and multiple incidents of sexual misconduct are believed to have taken place on school property.

According to Fox 4, one victim, a 17-year-old girl, told investigators that Thomas had touched her breasts and genitals on numerous occasions and kissed her neck. He reportedly asked her what color underwear she had on, suggested they go to a hotel together, and asked her to take lewd photos of herself using his phone. He is also accused of attempting to sodomize her.

According to court documents obtained by Fox News, Thomas told one student victim  “you’re going to get me fired” during an unlawful encounter. Several other victims, as young as 13, reported multiple instances of sexual misconduct.

Thomas is being held on $150,000.
