Police: California girl jumps from moving truck to escape rapist

Sonoma County police say a California girl is safe after jumping out of a car on Saturday morning to escape a man who reportedly raped her and injected her with drugs.

Inside Edition reports that Timothy Marble, 50, called the police and told them that his 13-year-old “companion” jumped out of his moving truck. As the police arrived to the scene, at around 5:40 a.m., off Hwy 1 at S. Harbour Way in Bodega Bay,  a girl emerged from a hiding spot in nearby bushes. She was scraped up and bruised, and claimed the man raped her.

Police took the young girl to a hospital for treatment. Afterwards, she told authorities that she ran away from her home in Napa on Friday night, after an argument with her mother. The victim made her way to a nearby Shell gas station. Marble, already at the gas station, began talking to her. He convinced her that he would give her a ride to wherever she was headed. The teen got into his red Chevy pickup, and they reportedly drove out to the countryside and smoked marijuana.

The victim stated that Marble started flirting with her and started making sexual advances, but when she refused, he pulled out a knife, threatened her, then sexually assaulted inside the truck. She also said the suspect used a knife to carve his name into her skin and injected her with methamphetamine.

On Saturday morning, as Marble drove, the victim began fearing for her life. When she saw the opportunity, she opened the passenger-side door and jumped out of the moving vehicle.

Upon investigation, authorities determined the girl’s story to be credible.

Marble was arrested and charged with numerous “sexual acts with a minor” offenses, along with kidnapping and child abuse. He’s being held at the  Sonoma County Jail without bail.
