Body found stuffed in trunk in Arkansas

On Saturday afternoon, the body of an Allen, Texas, man was found stuffed into the trunk of a car found in Arkansas.

Dallas News reports that the victim was a 64-year-old man, but his identity has not been released.  According to Hot Springs Sheriff Mike Cash, the vehicle was found around 50 miles southwest of Little Rock, in a wooded, remote area close to Magnet Cove, off of Baroid Road and Arkansas 51. The victim was stuffed into the trunk of his own car.

The car was located after a resident reported it as abandoned and told the police that there “was a body in it.” The victim was found with a gunshot wound to the head and chest area. So far, no arrests have been made.

The gas cap of the car was removed, and a cloth was stuffed into the fuel door. Cash said it appeared as if someone tried to set the car on fire.

Arkansas Online reports that the man had been dead for at least 10 hours before police found him. No further details are available at this time.
