Teen microwaves pet guinea pig in microwave on a dare

**WARNING**: Disturbing video

On a dare, 16-year-old Vitoria Muller took video of herself putting the family guinea pig in the family’s microwave oven and posted the video on social media. Muller claimed she came up with the idea after so-called friends urged her to do it.

The disturbing 16-second video clip shows the small black and white animal in the microwave. The light goes on when the oven starts and the small creature is seen on the rotating cooking tray.

The video quickly spread across her native Brazil and beyond reported the Daily Star and the feedback was brutal. One viewer said she was a “b***h” and the hashtag “PunicaoParaVitoria” (PunishmentforVitoria) started trending as outrage and horror spread and animal rights advocates demand the teen be punished.

Vitoria’s father turned his daughter into the authorities after learning what she had done. There, she was made to offer an explanation for her cruel stunt and he made her apologize for her “shameful behavior.”

All of her social media accounts have been deleted.

In a statement posted online, her father wrote, “My daughter was already punished for her bad behavior.”

He said the guinea pig was “fine” and “in the name of all my family we apologize.”

“We all take care of animals in this house and we would never let something like this happen. We apologize again for all that happened.”

Authorities seized the animal and transferred it to a veterinarian for evaluation. Fortunately, the guinea pig was not injured. Whether it was returned to the Muller home is unknown.
