First responders unlocked the car and pulled the child out, who was drenched in sweat and extremely lethargic. Responders said that sweat soaked the toddler’s clothes and even soaked through the padding of her car seat. Her temperature registered at 100.2°.

“The child’s clothing was completely soaked in sweat,” Cobb County Police spokesperson Alicia Chilton said. “She was clearly dehydrated and needed medical attention.”

The little girl was taken to a local hospital but as of Thursday, her condition is unknown.

Le was arrested and charged with felony cruelty to a child.

A representative from Towne Center Mall released a statement shortly after the incident, thanking the security guard who acted quickly and saved the child’s life. They’re also asking that any inquiries from media or anyone else be directed to the Cobb County Police Department.

“Town Center at Cobb management would like to commend the mall’s vigilant security team as well as first responders for their prompt response to this situation. We are working closely with local authorities to share any information that may assist in their investigation and ask that further inquiries be directed to the Cobb County Police Department at 770-499-3945.”
