An Oregon woman pleaded guilty on Wednesday to sending nude photos of her son to an FBI agent.
KRON reports that in July 2016, Lea Kathryn Jones, of Medford, initiated an online chat with someone she thought was interested in child pornography. The other person, actually an FBI agent, responded to her. According to the plea deal Jones took, the agent told Jones that he had a daughter and would love to exchange nude photos of children. In turn, Jones sent several naked photos of her son to the agent.
After her arrest, agents found additional naked photos of children on Jones’ cellphone and in her home. She was charged with “knowingly inducing or coercing” a child to participate in “sexually engaging” behavior in order to produce images to mail, send, or transport to other parties.
Prosecutors will likely request that Jones spend at least 15 years behind bars. Under her plea agreement, she agreed to no less than 10 years in prison. She’s scheduled for sentencing at some point in October.
