Prison Break: 12 inmates escape Alabama prison

A dozen inmates escaped an Alabama prison on Sunday and one fugitive is still on the loose. reports that 12 inmates escaped the Walker County Jail on Sunday, leading to a massive manhunt that recaptured all but one of the escaped prisoners.

As of Monday morning, Brady Andrew Kilpatrick, 24, (pictured above), who is serving a sentence on multiple drug charges, is still at large. Two of the escaped prisoners who have since been caught were jailed on murder charges.

The inmates escaped at approximately 6:30 p.m. on Sunday. Authorities have not yet released details on how the prisoners got out.

On Sunday night, the Jasper Police Department posted an alert to its Facebook page warning residents about the prisoners on the loose.

The most recent escapee to be captured was taken back into custody at 4:21 a.m Monday as authorities continue to search for Kilpatrick.

A $500 reward has been offered for information leading to the recapture of the inmates. Anyone with information should contact the Walker County Sheriff’s Office at (205) 302-6464.
