Little girl, 7, kidnapped from grandparents’ house and tossed off bridge

The suspect allegedly choked the girl before throwing her into a lake

A Massachusetts man is accused of kidnapping a 7-year-old girl and throwing her over a bridge, leaving her to die.

According to ABC 7, Joshua Hubert, 35, is accused of snatching the little girl from her grandparents’ home in Worcester, choking her, and throwing her over a bridge into a lake.

Miraculously, the girl survived and managed to swim to shore, and was found in Shrewsbury early Sunday morning.

Hubert is reportedly a family friend, and allegedly took the girl at about 2:30 a.m. Sunday. Police told the news station that Hubert allegedly drove the girl to Lake Quinsigamond, and choked her at some point before throwing her in.

The girl reportedly had “visible injuries” but they are not life-threatening.

Hubert has been charged with kidnapping. A motive is not yet known.
