Body found stuffed in refrigerator in Southern California

A male body was found inside an abandoned refrigerator in Ontario, California, less than an hour east of Downtown Los Angeles.

The Los Angeles Times reports that a passerby saw the refrigerator at about 6 a.m. Tuesday morning on the 700 block of South Hope Avenue, and went to explore it. Inside, they found the body of a man and contacted authorities.

Police determined that the deceased male was in his 20s, but have not yet identified him.

Authorities told the newspaper that they believed the refrigerator had been moved from another location. Investigators have reportedly been interviewing local businesses and residents in the area, which is largely industrial, to find potential witnesses.

At this early stage in the investigation, police have not commented on any cause of death or the possibility that the deceased was a homicide victim.

This is a developing story and will be updated as more information becomes available.
