Serial killer superfan murders mother, hides her body under porch: Police

Police believe the suspect may have been inspired by serial killer John Wayne Gacy

An Alabama man is accused of murdering his mother and burying her body under a porch.

According to Al.com, investigators dug under the porch of Nathaniel Sebastian’s home in Wilmer after he told them that he buried his mother there. Susan Mayo, 60, (pictured right), has been missing since June.

Investigators reportedly found a 50-gallon drum under the porch, which held the body of a female woman. Police have not yet confirmed that it is Mayo, though Sebastian, 32, told police it was her.

“We came to conduct an additional search warrant specifically in the area of the front porch of the home,” Montgomery County Sheriff Captain Paul Burch told Al.com.

“Once Nathaniel Sebastian realized we were about to look under the front porch he made a spontaneous statement that, “OK my mama’s under the front porch. Y’all got me.”

Sebastian was arrested and charged with murder and abuse of a corpse. His grandmother and Susan’s mother. Doris Clark, 81, was charged with obstruction of justice. Her role in the alleged murder is not yet known.

In a news video published by AL.com, Clark tells a reporter that she didn’t know anything about Susan’s death.

Police were unable to offer many specifics about the ongoing invetigation, but did share a chilling detail: The suspect may have been attempting to mimic a famous serial killer who killed more than 30 people in Illinois.

“One thing is that he claims to be a big fan of John Gacy, who was a serial killer and he in fact kept bodies of his victims underneath his house,” Burch told Al.com.
