Wife of Trump Trust ethics lawyer caught having sex in car with prison inmate: Police

The wife of an attorney who works for Donald Trump’s foundation has been arrested after allegedly having sex with a prison inmate.

The Daily News reports that Theresa Burchfield was arrested Tuesday in a parking lot near Fauquier County Adult Detention Center in Virginia, after officers found her in a car with a 23-year-old inmate at the prison.

The suspect, 53, is the wife of Bobby R. Burchfield, who was hired by the Donald J. Trump Revocable Trust in January to serve as an independent ethics advisor, according to the Fauquier Times.

The newspaper obtained a criminal complaint that said Burchfield and the inmate were having sex in the car. The unidentified prisoner had been granted “trustee” status, a set of privileges given to prisoners who have committed less serious crimes, that includes permission to leave the prison for work-related activities.

Burchfield is accused of supplying the inmate with unauthorized items.

“When the inmate exited the vehicle, he handed me a bag of brown pills (capsules), that he claims to be workout pills,” an officer reportedly wrote in the criminal complaint.

She also allegedly provided the inmate with cigarettes, clothes, and additional unspecified items.

The inmate reportedly told police the tryst was not an isolated event, and that he had been meeting with Burchfield for a month.

Burchfield was charged with willfully delivering unauthorized articles to a confined prisoner. Police told the Daily News that the inmate is not expected to be facing charges

The suspect was released after posting $5,000 bail.
