‘This is for the national anthem you pieces of s**t’: Woman throws drink on Lakers fans who kneeled during National Anthem

A California woman, apparently irate that two people kneeled during the National Anthem at a Lakers basketball game on Saturday, reportedly threw her drink on them before cursing at them.

The Blaze reports that the woman, identified as Haley Perea, was attending the a preseason game at Citizens Business Bank Arena in Ontario, California, when she spotted two men kneeling down during the National Anthem. Perea’s friend, Savannah Sugg, recorded the incident on her cellphone and posted it on Twitter.

“Excuse me, this is for the national anthem you pieces of s**t, you f***ers!” Perea said as she tossed her drink on the first man.

Perea then tossed the rest of her drink on another man kneeling before saying,”Yeah!”

“‘Take a kneel [sic] for the land of the slaves.’ Disrespect our flag and our country and that’s how we’ll react,” the Twitter caption read.

The tweet has since been deleted, likely after numerous Twitter users sent messages and tweets to California Baptist University, where Perea reportedly attends college.

On October 4, the college issued a statement on the school website, indicating that they do not condone Perea’s behavior. School officials said they were cooperating with law enforcement on the matter.

“On Wednesday, October 4, 2017, an incident occurred at a pre-season NBA basketball game at the Ontario Citizens Business Bank Arena. While this was not an event affiliated with California Baptist University, two current CBU students were involved.

On Thursday morning, October 5, 2017, CBU learned of this incident and initiated an investigation and plans to take appropriate action. CBU does not condone or support the behavior depicted in the recording of the incident.

CBU takes this matter very seriously and is cooperating with law enforcement and arena management.”
