‘Mom’ kills babies by burning them alive in oven, shows video to their father: Police

At Atlanta mother is accused of killing her two young children by burning them alive in the oven.

As CrimeOnline previously reported, Lamora Williams, 24, was charged with deaths of the children, 1-year-old Ja’Karter Penn and 2-year-old Ke’Yaunte Penn, after they were found dead Friday with burns on their bodies. The earlier reports indicated that police believed the children had been left alone.

But authorities have now revealed that Williams is accused of intentionally putting the two children into the oven. According to an arrest warrant obtained by the Atlanta Journal Constitution, Williams is accused of killing the two boys by  “by placing them in an oven and turning it on.”

Williams also allegedly called the boys’ father, Jameel Penn, on Friday night, and recorded a live video in which he reportedly saw his sons’ burned bodies on the kitchen floor. Penn immediately called the police, and first responders found the boys dead in the home. Their three-year-old brother was also in the home but unharmed, and an older sister was not at home.

“I ain’t got no soul no more,” Penn told reporters at a vigil for the boys Saturday night.

The suspect’s friends and relatives told the Atlanta Journal Constitution that Williams had mental health problems in the past, and was struggling to raise her four young children with little help. She reportedly quit a job about a month ago because she couldn’t find a babysitter.

Williams reportedly called a friend Friday night and said she “couldn’t do it anymore” before allegedly confessing that the two boys were dead.

The suspect is reportedly being held without bail.
