Jim Carrey files protective order after suicide girlfriend’s therapy session notes are leaked

Actor Jim Carrey wants a protective order after a therapist’s notes were leaked alleging he lied about giving his late girlfriend, Cathriona White, sexually transmitted diseases, according to the Daily Mail.

The notes leaked were recorded by his late girlfriend’s therapist.

The actor reportedly filed a motion Monday, October 9, and if it is approved will allow Carrey and other parties to review the discovery material connected to the wrongful death suit filed by his late girlfriend’s family five days before it is made available to the public.

Carrey is expected to be deposed in the case on October 27.

Daily Mail obtained notes from White’s visits with her psychologist in which she revealed she had trouble eating and sleeping because of her troublesome relationship with the actor.

White reportedly told the therapist Carrey gave her herpes and made her feel like ‘damaged goods,’ contributing to suicidal thoughts.

As CrimeOnline previously reported, White took her own life with an overdose of pills, some prescribed to an alias used by Carrey, in September 2015. Her mother Brigid Sweetman and her estranged husband Mark Burton filed the wrongful death suit against the A-list actor earlier this year.

The actor’s attorneys are now arguing there is sufficient cause to modify the existing protective order due to the sensitivity of potential information which Carrey claims is ‘inaccurate,’ court documents suggest.

The motion obtained by the Daily Mail reads:

‘[White’s] [psychologist] recently produced subpoenaed counseling notes to parties that contain sensitive, private, and Mr. Carrey contends, inaccurate, information about the relationship between Ms. White and Mr. Carrey, as well as the psychologist’s notes of discussions with Ms. White that reference or pertain to Mr. Carrey’s alleged medical and psychological health and conditions.’

Daily Mail obtained notes and text messages spanning from October 2012 to July 2013 which reveal White had been seeing the actor for six months before he abruptly broke off the relationship, after White claimed she tested positive for the STDs, but before she received any results.

As CrimeOnline previously reported, Carrey has accused White’s mother and her estranged husband of pressuring her to make financial demands of him after the breakup.
