Danny Masterson publicist suggests Scientologist could not have assaulted accuser because they were dating

Masterson is accused of drugging and raping multiple women

The publicist for a well-known Scientologist accused of rape told one of his victims that a man couldn’t have raped another accuser because he was in a relationship with her.

As CrimeOnline previously reported, The Ranch star Danny Masterson has been accused of sexual assault by four women who say the assaults took place in the early 2000s. Two of his accusers had been in a relationship with him, and all four have reportedly said that Masterson raped them while they were unconscious after passing out from a drug-spiked drink. While multiple women filed police reports against the actor, Los Angeles prosecutors have not yet pressed any charges.

The Huffington Post has obtained audio recording of a conversation between one of Masterson’s accusers and Masterson’s long time publicist Jenni Weinman. The woman, who claims Masterson violently raped her after she had passed out and then choked her when she woke up during the assault, had reportedly called Weinman to discuss the allegations after she had been in touch with another accuser, Chrissie Bixler, who has accused Masterson of drugging and raping her twice while they were dating.

During the call, which reportedly took place in October 2016, Weinman is heard downplaying the sexual assault allegations because Bixler and Masterson were in a relationship at the time.

“Well, Chrissie was Danny’s girlfriend at the time, so there’s really nothing, there’s no story there,” Weinman said.

The Huffington Post shared a transcript of the publicist’s phone conversation with Bixler, who was a member of the Church of Scientology at the time of the alleged assaults and said unsuccessfully tried to address the allegations with church officials.

“Hearing that validates what I’ve always said, that the Church and Danny were dead-set on convincing me that I couldn’t have been raped because I was in a relationship with him,” Bixler told the Huffington Post.

The Huffington Post published a partial transcript of the phone call between Weinman and the woman known as Victim B:

Victim B: “I know Chrissie [Bixler] and I am certain she would talk.”

Weinman: “Well, Chrissie was Danny’s girlfriend at the time, so there’s really nothing, there’s no story there.”

Victim B: “He raped her.”

Weinman: “They were boyfriend and girlfriend and they dated, and then they f***** for a year after they broke up, so I don’t think that…”

Victim B: “He raped her when she was unconscious. That’s what he does, he rapes women when they’re unconscious. He has a sick…”

Weinman: “You were not unconscious when I dropped you off.”

Victim B: “Very true, that is true, we agree on something. Very true.”

Weinman: “So I’m trying to figure out what happened, because I don’t imagine you would just go into someone’s house and then get raped.”

Victim B: “You want me to tell you about the worst thing that ever happened in my life? Because I know you don’t care about me.”

Weinman: “It’s not that I don’t care. That’s kind of rude. Like, I have kids, and I’m a mother, and I’m a woman ― of course I’m curious, which is why I called you. If I didn’t give a s***, I would have been like, whatever, have the legal people call you. You don’t know me, so that’s not anything about me.”

Bixler told the Huffington Post that she was intimate with Masterson only three times after their relationship ended.

The news outlet reached Weinman for comment, and she responded with the following statement:

“I respect the law. I would never cover up wrongdoing or threaten people based on the scope of my work. As a publicist it’s my job to gather information and make informed decisions about media matters. As an outsider looking in I never saw anything but a consensual relationship between Danny and Chrissie, with whom I maintained a cordial relationship after they broke up. That said, her claims coming after almost 16 years were surprising and shocking to say the least. My conversation with any alleged victim came from a place of sincerity, and curiosity as to why they would wait and why now, it just seemed so illogical.”

The investigation into the rape allegations against Masterson is ongoing.
