Thanksgiving horror: ‘Boyfriend’ allegedly kidnaps, rapes, and tortures girlfriend, keeps her bound and naked in basement

The suspect allegedly tased the woman before he sexually assaulted her

A Georgia man was arrested and charged Wednesday after police say he raped and “tortured” his California girlfriend in the basement of his home over the Thanksgiving holiday.

Thuan Q. Dinh, 39, is facing a slew of charges including rape, false imprisonment, robbery and aggravated assault, as well as drug-related charges, according to a report by The Atlanta Journal-Constitution.

Police say Dinh drove to California to pick up his girlfriend and bring her to his Buford, Georgia home for Thanksgiving. When they arrived, he allegedly bound her with rope and duct tape, tased her, then raped her.

Dinh kept the woman tied up in his basement and physically and sexually assaulted her repeatedly over the course of 24 hours.

When he left the home on Friday morning, she was able to escape and find safety at a neighbor’s house.

Police say they were called to the home just before 9 a.m. where the woman showed up completely nude with her hands tied with a rope and duct tape on her neck and head. She told police Dunh had “tortured” her.

Dinh’s home was searched, and police found a “large amount” of marijuana inside, though he wasn’t home at the time. He was eventually arrested during a traffic stop the following Wednesday.

Police say Dinh is being held at the Gwinett County Detention Center without bond.

WSB-TV reports that that the victim is currently staying at a safe location and is recovering from the ordeal.
