Real Housewives of New York City (RHONY) star Luann De Lesseps is behind bars after she allegedly threw a drunken tantrum and attacked a police officer and firefighter on early Sunday morning in Palm Beach, Florida.
Palm Beach Post reports the 52-year-old reality star known as “The Countess” is facing several felony charges after she allegedly kicked a police officer and slammed the door in his face, then violently attacked a firefighter who showed up for assistance. The details surrounding why authorities were called in the first place is still unclear, but De Lesseps reportedly threatened to “kill them all” upon arrest.
“I’m going to kill you all,” the state attorney said, referring to what the reality star reportedly screamed while being detained.
Judge Ted Booras initially set her bond at $20,000, but later decided to release De Lesseps on her own recognizance while urging her to get a defense attorney. He also allowed her to travel back to New York since she’s had no prior convictions.
The reality star is facing charges of battery on a firefighter, disorderly intoxication, resisting a police officer with violence, and two charges of corruption by threat of a public servant.
De Lesseps former husband, Tom D’Agostino, who was also in Florida with his family, didn’t comment on her arrest, but DailyMail reports that he was reportedly the target of the reality star’s previous alleged outbursts.
‘Tom left her for this reason, because she was so violent,” an unnamed friend of D’Agostino told DailyMail. “She used to punch, kick and scratch him. And in public. It doesn’t surprise me, especially when she drinks. And boy does she like to drink. She clearly has a problem.”
