Stranger smashes teen girl in the face with glass bottle after she refuses his advances: Report

A 19-year-old girl is hoping that sharing photos of a harrowing experience will help authorities find the man who smashed a glass bottle over her head on Sat. night after she refused his advances.

DailyMail reports that the teen, Sophie, said she was at the Babel nightclub in Malmo, Sweden, on Sat. when a man she’d never seen before approached her on the dance floor from behind and put his hands between her legs.

“I turned around and then I felt his hand on my bottom and between my legs.”

Sophie hit the man tried to get away from him but the suspect reportedly greeted her with a with a punch to her face with his closed fist. He followed up by smashing a bottle over the left side of her head as she tried to leave the club.

“I thought it was liquid from the bottle [on my face], but then my friend said there was blood pouring down. I was in shock.”

Sophie went to the hospital, where she was given stitches and treated for several cuts.

Two days after the incident, police shelved the assault after lack of evidence. Malmo Police spokesperson, Nils Norling, said that if someone could help corroborate the teen’s story and help identify the suspect.

“We hope that someone has seen something, seen the incident. If so, we will open up the investigation again,” Norling said. “We want nothing but to continue with this. It may not be that you can expose someone to gross abuse and go free. I really hope someone can come up with more information. So that we can get closer to a suspected offender.”

After her friend took photos of the aftermath of the attack, Sophie decided to share them on social media in hopes that someone will come forward with information about the suspect, who fled shortly after the incident.

The suspect is described as 5 feet 10 inches tall with dark hair. He appeared to be in his mid-20s and had the build of a “bodybuilder,” according to the victim.

“I am happy and grateful that it did not end worse. But I’m a little upset about not finding the man,” Sophie said.
