URGENT: Police ask for help finding woman after her car is found crashed and abandoned

Authorities in Alabama are hoping tips from the public will aid in their investigation after a woman’s abandoned vehicle, which appeared to have been involved in a collision, was found Saturday alongside a road near her home.

An area near County Road 36 was closed following the discovery as police searched for the missing woman.

As AL.com reported, the Pelham Police Department issued a missing persons alert in hopes that information shared on social media will lead to her recovery.

“An active search is currently underway along CR 36 for Lisa Holman, age 45,” the agency wrote. “Her vehicle was found wrecked this morning. She was last seen wearing a hot pink sweater and black leggings.”

Police are asking locals to report any possible sightings of the missing woman..

The advisory is aimed at “anyone who saw a woman fitting this description, especially along CR 36 between Bent Creek Drive and Brasher road,” though police are also soliciting tips from outside that immediate area.

“Anyone living near the area is asked to keep an eye out, as well, but please do not interfere with the law enforcement search,” the statement read.

Individuals with possible information regarding Holman’s whereabouts are encouraged to call 205-620-6550.

Later Saturday afternoon, police provided an update indicating that the road had re-opened near the site of the crash but the search was still ongoing.

“Law enforcement officers and other first responders are still on the scene, so please use caution in the area,” the agency advised.
