‘You killed my kid!’ Stunned father of girl killed in Parkland school shooting speaks at her funeral

The father of a teenage girl killed in Wednesday’s mass shooting in Parkland, Florida, expressed his shock and disbelief at his daughter’s funeral Friday, while the girl’s mother was too grief-stricken to attend.

Meadow Jade Pollack , 18, was among the 17 people killed at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School on Wednesday after Nikolas Cruz, 19, opened fire at the school Wednesday afternoon.

The Sun Sentinel reports that over 1,000 people attended Meadow’s funeral Friday afternoon Temple K’ol Tikvah in Parkland. According to the New York Post, Meadow’s mother did not attend the funeral because she was too distraught over her daughter’s death, as her emotional father addressed the congregation.

“You killed my kid!” Andrew Pollock reportedly said. “‘My kid is dead’ goes through my head all day and all night. I keep hearing it over and over.”

“This is just unimaginable to think I will never see my princess again. This piece of s*** killed my kid, and I couldn’t do anything about it. That’s never happened to me in my life. I’m always able to protect my family in any situation.”

Her older brother also spoke a the funeral.

“I wanted to be the over-supportive brother my whole life and I feel like I failed,” Hunter Pollock said.

“So all I can do is hope that [her shooter] gets what he deserves.”

Nikolas Cruz reportedly confessed to the shootings, and may offer a guilty plea in an effort to be spared the death penalty.
