After the only visit Nikolas Cruz got from a family member, he asked for a Bible

Parkland school shooting suspect was indicated on 34 counts Wednesday amid reports he was overheard laughing and giggling in jail.

According to the CNN, Broward County jail deputies monitoring Nikolas Cruz, who is on suicide watch, have noted that he is primarily calm and cooperative in custody but have observed some unusual behavior.

Cruz, 19, was reportedly heard laughing during a meeting with his attorney, and seen was seen “smiling and giggling” on another occasion. The suspect typically eats all of his meals, and reportedly spends a lot of time in bed, often appearing restless.

“(Twists) and turns in bunk, does not sleep, stares at wall in deep thought, eyes closed, appears to be resting, not asleep,” one deputy wrote.

On Wednesday, Cruz was indicted on 17 counts of murder and 17 counts of attempted murder, according to USA Today.

Broward County Public Defender Howard Finkelstein reportedly said that Cruz is remorseful over the February 14 massacre at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School.

Most of Cruz’s visitors in jail have been lawyers or doctors, but Cruz did get a visit from an unidentified family member on February 24. After that visit, the inmate requested a Bible.
