BREAKING: Maryland school shooter identified as 17-year-old Austin Wyatt Rollins

St. Mary’s County Sheriff Department has identified the gunman in Tuesday’s shooting at Great Mills High School.

In a press conference Tuesday afternoon, Sheriff Timothy Cameron identified the shooter as 17-year-old Austin Wyatt Rollins.

Rollins died of his injuries after exchanging fire with a School Resource Officer, who was not injured.

A 16-year-old girl and a 14-year-old boy were hospitalized. The girl is being treated for “life-threatening critical injuries,” the sheriff said.

“There is an indication that a prior relationship existed between the shooter and the [female] victim,” Sheriff Cameron continued, and said investigators are still working to determine a possible motive.

CrimeOnline will provide further updates when more information is available.
