Man mortally wounded in stabbing hails cab to hospital but arrives too late: Police

Authorities in New York say a 41-year-old man was fatally stabbed outside of a karaoke club in the early hours of Saturday.

The victim, who was not named in initial reports, was able to hail a taxi cab from the scene in Brooklyn to an area hospital, though he was pronounced dead upon his arrival, according to the New York Daily News.

Police indicate the incident occurred around 4 a.m. near the intersection of 64th Street and 8th Avenue in Sunset Park.

A New York Post article indicates the stabbing took place outside of Go One Sushi Inc, located at 848 64th St.

The victim reportedly received multiple knife wounds to his chest during an apparent fight outside of the business.

After attracting a cab driver’s attention, authorities say he traveled about a mile to the Maimonides Medical Center.

Attempts by medical professionals at the hospital to save his life were not successful.

As of the latest reports available, police had not announced any arrests associated with the attack.

In initial comments, authorities indicated that the investigation into the man’s death remained ongoing and that officials were working to notify his family.
