Man offers supermarket shopper $200 to “have” her 7-year-old granddaughter: Cops

Authorities in Georgia arrested a man on suspicion of offering a woman money in exchange for her 7-year-old granddaughter.

According to WXIA, the woman claimed she and the girl were shopping at a Kroger supermarket in Marietta on Monday when they were approached by the suspect.

Police allege Einodd Samimi solicited the girl, initially remarking on her appearance before offering $100 to buy her.

An arrest warrant claims he remarked on “how pretty the child’s hair was” before continuing to walk behind them throughout the grocery store.

At one point during an incident earlier the same night, the woman said Samimi approached them at an area Walmart location and asked if he could “have” her granddaughter for $100.

It was apparently during the later encounter that the suspect increased his offer to $200, as reported by Fox News.

The grandmother reportedly reacted aggressively, opting to chase the suspect through a “large crowd” in the the store and out into the parking lot.

Though he was able to drive away from the scene, police tracked him down at his residence the same day and took him into custody. He is expected to face criminal counts including enticing a child and criminal solicitation.

Records indicate he was being held in lieu of $20,000 bond prior to an initial court appearance scheduled for Wednesday.
