After trip to liquor store, mom leaves three-year-old girl in hot car overnight, critically injuring her

A 3-year-old girl is in critical condition after her mother allegedly left her in a hot car overnight — after coming home from the liquor store.

The Associated Press reports that Casey Dyan Keller, 33, reportedly drove to a liquor store with her three children in the car on Saturday night. When she returned to her home in Sanford, Florida, she reportedly brought her other children inside but forgot about the little girl.

Police told the Associated Press that Keller called 911 the next morning to report both her daughter and her car missing, once she realized the girl wasn’t in the apartment.

Responding deputies found the girl inside a car at the apartment complex. The windows were closed in the car, and she is believed to have lost consciousness at points during the night.

The little girl is now in critical but stable condition. Her mother has been charged with child neglect with great bodily harm.
