Woman’s ex is hounded by online trolls, cleared by cops after in-law is arrested for her murder: Reports

A man has been arrested and charged with murder in connection with a British after her body was found about a week after she was reported missing.

Samantha Eastwood’s remains were found on Saturday during a police search for the missing woman. The body was transported from the scene to a medical examiner’s facility for an autopsy.

Her cause of death was not immediately released.

According to the U.K. Mirror, 32-year-old Michael Stirling of Stoke-on-Trent is expected to face a judge on Monday in North Staffordshire Magistrates’ Court.

The suspect is identified as the victim’s ex-fiance’s brother-in-law. Stirling is reportedly married to 34-year-old John Peake’s sister.

Authorities went on to search an area adjacent to property that reportedly belongs to Stirling’s parents, 57-year-old Carol and 60-year-old Stephen.

A police statement indicated two suspected accomplices were also arrested. The male suspects were initially identified only as a 28-year-old and 60-year-old who were both released on conditional bail.

The 28-year-old victim was reported missing on July 27, according to police. The midwife was last seen leaving Royal Stoke University Hospital, as reported by the U.K. Daily Mail.

She was reported missing when she did not return to work for a night shift.

According to the Daily Mail, Peake was subjected to relentless online abuse and bullying since his ex’s disappearance and the arrest of a suspect. The tabloid indicated that this trolling was a factor in Staffordshire Police issuing a statement declaring he had not been arrested.

“We are not naming the three men arrested yesterday but John Peake is not one of them,” authorities said.
