SEE IT: Parkland school shooter Nikolas Cruz sobs, hugs brother, punches himself in the head in interrogation video

Authorities in Florida have released video footage of Nikolas Cruz’s police interrogation, during which he confessed to the deadly gun massacre at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School, which killed 17 people.

In the video, Cruz can be seen describing the “demon” voice in his head to a skeptical detective, and pleading “Kill me” when left alone in the interrogation room. Cruz is also seen punching himself in the head and pointing his finger at his temple, mocking a gun to his head.

According to a report in the Sun-Sentinel, Cruz asked only to see his brother Zachary, and the two had an emotional 15-minute conversation, during which Zachary asks permission to embrace Nikolas.

“You really messed up this time … no one can get you out of this, dog,” Zachary tells his brother.

Zachary also apologizes for past hurts, insisting that he always cared about Nikolas even though he may not have acted as though he did.

“You probably felt like you had nobody but I, I care about you. I literally would pull my heart out for you,” Zachary says, referring to a conversation the young men had at the hospital when their adoptive mother died.

“I told you when we were walking down the hallway that it’s just me and you and I had your back.”

As CrimeOnline previously reported, Cruz told the detective in the interrogation that he was compelled to commit the mass shooting by a demonic voice in his head, and that he had tried to take his own life in the months prior to the shooting by overdosing on alcohol and over-the-counter drugs.
