[VIDEO] Chick-fil-A employee fired after punching disruptive man who stepped behind employee counter, cops say

A physical altercation between a fast-food employee and 55-year-old man was caught on cellphone video in the nation’s capital this week.

According to WTTG, the suspect, identified as Sean Turner, faces simple assault charges while the 27-year-old Chick-fil-A employee was fired for engaging the older man in a fight.

Reports indicate the incident occurred at a location in Tenleytown on Tuesday night.

Police say the suspect became belligerent and yelled at staff and customers before walking behind the counter to the employee area.

The employee appears to be seen repeatedly punching Turner before bystanders step in to separate the men.

According to police, Turner was transported from the scene to an area hospital for treatment of minor injuries he sustained in the altercation.

Chick-fil-A has released a statement denouncing the behavior demonstrated at the franchised restaurant.

“This video is incredibly disturbing to watch, and we do not condone violence or the team member’s response to the situation in any way,” the statement read.

The company went on to confirm that the employee was no longer employed at the location.

“We are continuing to investigate this situation, including what happened before the video was taken and how it escalated so quickly,” Chick-fil-A wrote.
