One new suspect has been arrested in the July shooting death of Christian Broder, a husband and dad who was fatally shot while waiting for an Uber following a wedding celebration in Atlanta, and another is expected to turn himself in this week.
As CrimeOnline previously reported, two teen suspects are already in custody in connection to the shocking murder that claimed the life of 34-year-old Broder, who had traveled to Atlanta from Washington to attend the wedding of a friend at Capitol City Country Club in Brookhaven.
Broder had been waiting for an Uber when a car driven by one of the suspects approached the scene, and the victim reportedly believed it was his ride. Instead, two suspects got out of the car and robbed him, with one shooting him in the stomach. Broder was taken to a hospital but died two weeks later from his injuries.
Jayden Myrick, 17, is charged with Broder’s murder and is believed to have been the gunman. Torrus Fleetwood, 19, was also arrested, and is believed to have been the getaway driver, according to the Atlanta Journal-Constitution.
Both Myrick and Fleetwood remain in custody without bond at the Fulton Jail, and the Atlanta Journal-Constitution reports that two more suspected have been indicted: Kevan Reeves and Montavious Lovejoy, who are both 15.
Only Reeves is now in custody, being held at a youth detention center, and Lovejoy has not yet surrendered, though he is expected to next week.
The news suspects’ role in the murder is not yet known. According to the Atlanta Journal -Constitution, all four suspects are believed to have gang ties.
