BREAKING: Maryland Rite Aid shooting suspect, a female temp employee, has been killed

The suspect in the mass shooting in Maryland Thursday morning had died of a self-inflicted gunshot wound.

CBS News reports that the suspect, a 26-year-old temp employee at the Rite Aid distribution center in Aberdeen, shot herself in the head after allegedly fatally shooting three others at the facility early Thursday.

Police have not released the name of the suspect, who died at a hospital where she had previously been listed in critical condition. She had been taken into custody at the scene of the shooting.

The gunfire claimed the lives of three other people, at injured at least five others.

Authorities reportedly said that the suspect reported to work as normal on Thursday before going outside and opening fire, then coming back inside the building.

A motive for the mass shooting is not yet known.
