AMBER Alert: Two young children possibly abducted from home

Florida authorities issued an AMBER Alert Thursday evening after two young children disappeared and could possibly be on the way out of state.

NCMEC reports that 7-year-old Brian Mejias and 6-year-old Gabriela Mejias disappeared from the 900 block of Ohio Avenue North on Thursday in Live Oak, a small city in between Jacksonville and Tallahassee. Authorities said the kids could possibly be in a black Toyota Camry with black tinted windows and a Texas license plate, and in the company of a man named Ritchie.

Brian, who has brown eyes and black hair, is 4-feet-tall and was last seen wearing a red shirt and blue jeans. Brian is missing his upper teeth and has a scar on the right side of his forehead, below the hairline.

Gabriela, who also has brown eyes and long black hair down to her waist, is 3-feet-tall and was last seen wearing a pink dress. She has prominent dimples and most of her teeth are crowned.

Authorities indicated that the Toyota Camry could be traveling to Texas or Madison, Florida, in a caravan with two other vehicles. One of the other vehicles could possibly be a grey, Chevy Tahoe or Suburban with tinted windows and a Texas license plate.

Anyone with any information is urged to contact the Suwannee County Sheriff’s Office at 386-362-3222.
