Woman locks dozens of dogs and cats inside moving truck with no AC, water or food: Cops

Authorities in Florida say a 61-year-old woman locked dozens of animals inside of a moving van without any access to food and water.

According to Fox News, Karen Tuttle-Kunmann was arrested Saturday on suspicion of 47 counts of animal cruelty.

The Pasco County Sheriff’s Office released a statement confirming the arrest and providing details of the circumstances surrounding the disturbing discovery.

Authorities found the animals were trapped inside a U-Haul truck with no air conditioning.

Dogs and cats were in both the cab and storage compartments of the truck.

The truck was also packed with furniture. Some of the animals were in cages on top of the vehicle while others were stuck inside under the items inside.

Area animal control officers took the animals from the scene, but additional information was not immediately available.

Neighbors in the Holiday community called police to complain of the situation, according to WTVT.

The suspect was reportedly still behind bars as of the latest updates available. A judge set bond at $5,000.
