Two adults caught on surveillance attacking young child & mother in an unprovoked random attack at gas station: Police

A Florida man and woman are behind bars after police say they were caught on surveillance camera at a gas station last Saturday beating up a child and several adults.

The Miami Herald reports according to the Marion County Sheriff’s Office, the suspects, identified as Brandon Clanton and Julia Napiontek, both 18, are accused of pulling a young girl out of truck parked at the Circle K in Silver Springs. The suspects were reportedly caught on surveillance camera attacking three adults and a child. The victims later told officers they had no idea who the suspects were or why they decided to attack them.

Tersa Elghali, one of the adult victims, was standing outside next to a red truck when Napiontek attacked her, according to Click Orlando. Elghali’s 11-year-old daughter got out of the passenger side of the truck when she saw her mother being attacked, but Napiontek allegedly attacked the child as well. Meanwhile, Clanton reportedly attacked two other adults, including Elghali’s boyfriend, Jason Ellis.

“(The) next thing I know, I’m turned around and I’m walking back toward the truck and I’m getting attacked,” Ellis said. “When I saw an 11-year-old girl getting attacked, I don’t know what to do.”

Elghali said she eventually grabbed her daughter and hid while the suspects fled away in a vehicle.

“I grabbed her and hid behind a gas tank, yelling at people to call the police.”

According to court documents, Clanton has been in at least one other violent incident in which he’s accused of attacking a stranger. In a previous unrelated incident, Clanton allegedly attacked a 17-year-old at a convenience store, hitting the victim multiple times.

The victim told authorities he was at the store buying drinks for his grandmother when the unprovoked attack occurred. The teen ended up needing seven stitches after the attack. Clanton was subsequently charged with aggravated child abuse.

In the most recent incident, both suspects were arrested and charged with aggravated child abuse and battery. Clanton received an additional charge of battery and assault on a law enforcement officer after he allegedly resisted arrested when officers found him.
