An aspiring Atlanta model has died after she was shot in the neck last week while driving to work. Police are now seeking the drivers of a few vehicles spotted driving by the victim on the morning of the shooting.
FOX59 reports that 28-year-old Kelsey Quayle had only been in the Atlanta area for a few months when she was shot in the neck at around 7 a.m. last Monday while driving down Upper Riverdale Road in her Mazda 626. She moved from California to Atlanta to pursue a modeling career and started a job at a dental office to make ends meet. She was on her way to work when the tragic shooting occurred.
Kelsey’s family flew in from California and made the tough decision to remove her from life support after learning the bullet severed her spinal cord, rendering her brain dead. Police are now trying to piece together the puzzle and determine who shot her and why.
The Clayton County Police Department is searching for the driver of a grey sedan and the driver a white SUV spotted on surveillance footage driving by Kelsey just moments before she crashed into oncoming traffic. Authorities stated three other drivers crashed after the victim’s car veered into oncoming traffic, colliding head-on with their vehicles. The other drivers sustained minor injuries, as CrimeOnline previously reported.
“Here is video footage captured from various angles just seconds before the crash involving Kelsey Quayle occurred,” Clayton Police Department wrote on Facebook. “We are asking anyone who may have been traveling along Upper Riverdale Road, in the area of the crash (approx. 7:02 a.m.) to contact us at 770-477-3648.”
“Detectives would like to speak with you about what you may have seen in the area. We would especially like to speak with the driver of the white SUV and the driver of the gray sedan that is seen passing Kelsey’s vehicle as it is traveling in the lanes of oncoming traffic.”
