Breaking: Suspect at large after killing one person, injuring two inside detox center

California authorities are searching for a suspect who’s accused of killing a person and injuring two others during a shooting on Monday morning inside the Helen Vine Detox Center in San Rafael.

The Mercury News reports the incident happened Monday morning at 301 Smith Ranch Road. Marin County Sheriff’s Office received a call at around 1:33 a.m.; the caller said that several staff members had been shot. According to authorities, one staff member, a male, died from gunshots wounds, while a female and male staff member were injured and rushed to the hospital. Their conditions are currently unknown.

The Marin County Sheriff’s Office announced that the suspect fled the scene shortly after the ordeal and has not yet been located. the California Highway Patrol and the Central Marin Police Authority are assisting in locating the suspect.
