Vegas sportscaster masturbates inside bar at 9:15 a.m., claims he was ‘scratching himself’: Cops

Authorities in Nevada say a prominent local news figure was arrested on suspicion of indecent exposure and open gross lewdness.

According to Deadspin, Randy Howe — a sportscaster with KSNV — was arrested on Tuesday morning and has since been released on bail.

He is accused of masturbating in the open as he sat at a slot machine inside a North Vegas bar at about 9:15 a.m. that day.

Reports also indicate a witness allegedly saw Howe walk to a restroom in the establishment with his genitals exposed.

A tavern employee reportedly called police to report the patron’s “strange behavior.”

Employees said the suspect had not been drinking alcohol while at the establishment and had been served only an energy drink.

A police report indicates he told police that he “probably shouldn’t have been scratching himself at the bar and that it was a bad decision.”

In its report of the incident, the Las Vegas Review Journal cited employees who said they had seen him at the establishment on multiple previous occasions.

Police say one worker who reportedly saw Howe masturbate at the bar previously “hoped it was an isolated incident” and opted against reporting it to authorities.

The network affiliate’s general manager released a statement acknowledging the allegations against the veteran sportscaster.

“We are obviously very concerned about the seriousness of these charges,” said Larry Strumwasser. “We are investigating everything.”

A page on the KSNV website that had displayed Howe’s biography and history with the station was displaying an error message as of this writing.
