Mom leaves toddler son alone at Chuck E. Cheese’s after party ends: Cops

Authorities in Florida say a woman was arrested on suspicion of child neglect after allegedly leaving her toddler son alone at a Chuck E. Cheese’s restaurant last week.

According to WPLG, 25-year-old Riviera Beach resident Sharon Perry was taken into police custody on Saturday.

A police report indicates the woman left her son at a party held inside the restaurant.

Individuals found the child at about 9:30 p.m. and called Boynton Beach police. He was reportedly sitting alone at a booth at the time.

When officers arrived, they found the child in apparent good health and without any signs of injury or abuse.

Authorities estimated his age to be between 2 and 3, noting that he was unable to tell them where he lived or give them a guardian’s phone number.

A relative reportedly contacted police about an hour later and confirmed Perry was en route to pick him up.

The mother told authorities that a carpooling mix-up was responsible for what she deemed an accidental oversight, according to police.

Nine other children and six adults were at the gathering that night, Perry said, and she did not know her son was still at the restaurant when multiple vehicles left with attendees after the party.

The suspect was arrested and was still behind bars with bond set at $3,000 as of the latest reports available.

She is expected to face a criminal count of child neglect without great bodily harm.

Department of Children and Families officials confirmed the boy was placed in the custody of his maternal grandmother following his mother’s arrest.
