Resident returns home to find armed man asleep on the floor: Police

Authorities in Kentucky say a Laurel County man returned to his residence recently to find a stranger sleeping on the floor.

According to WKYT, 38-year-old Bryan Robinson was arrested on suspicion of multiple criminal counts following the discovery inside a home near London.

A Laurel County Sheriff’s Department report indicates the resident of the Sasser School Road arrived at the house last week to perform some renovations on the property when he found the suspect.

According to the Lexington Herald Leader, the resident contacted local law enforcement on Friday afternoon to report the discovery.

Deputies arrived at the scene shortly before 5 p.m. and found the man still on the floor and apparently sleeping.

When deputies approached and attempted to wake him, they allegedly found in his possession a large knife tucked under his clothing in the small of his back.

Police also reportedly found a glass pipe used for smoking methamphetamine and a hypodermic needle on his person.

As authorities reported, he put up a fight when they attempted to restrain him and place him in custody.

After his arrest, Robinson was transported to the Laurel County Detention Center.

He is expected to face charges including carrying a concealed weapon, resisting arrest, and possessing drug paraphernalia, and criminal trespassing in the third degree, according to WLEX.

Robinson was still behind bars as of the latest reports available and bond information was not immediately released.
