Chris Watts transferred to Wisconsin maximum security prison: Report

Chris Watts has reportedly landed at a prison in Wisconsin after being transferred from a Colorado prison due to safety concerns.

According to RadarOnline, a source close to the investigation said that Watts has arrived at a maximum-security Wisconsin prison after leaving a Colorado prison earlier this week.

“Watts was transported from Colorado to Wisconsin due to security purposes,” the source reportedly told RadarOnline. “He arrived safely to his new facility where he will begin his five consecutive life sentences.”

In November, Watts pleaded guilty to murdering his pregnant wife Shannan Watts and his young daughters, 4-year-old Bella and 3-year-old Celeste.

RadarOnline reportedly confirmed with the Wisconsin Department of Corrections that Watts is in their custody.

“We can confirm inmate Christopher Lee Watts is in the custody of the Wisconsin Department of Corrections,” an official told the news outlet. “We cannot disclose where he is being housed, but we can confirm that he is in the care of the Wisconsin Department of Corrections.”

CrimeOnline contacted the Wisconsin Department of Corrections, which provided us with the following statement via email:

“The Department of Corrections is not confirming the location or disclosing the identity of inmates who may have been transferred to Wisconsin under the Interstate Corrections Compact.”

The Wisconsin DOC referred CrimeOnline to the Colorado DOC, which has not yet returned our request for clarification.

CrimeOnline will update this story when more information is available.
