Cops say video ties suspect to years-old sexual assault, other victims likely

Authorities in Oregon say video footage linked a Linn County man to the sexual abuse of a victim while she was incapacitated.

The alleged incident occurred several years ago, according to investigators.

As KPIC reported, Linn County Sheriff’s Office detectives arrested 46-year-old Eric Wayne Dille on Thursday on suspicion of criminal counts including first-degree unlawful sexual penetration and first-degree sexual abuse.

Investigators believe there could be other female victims, as suggested by evidence contained in the video footage in their possession.

Police reports alleged the victim identified in the current case was someone the Mill City man knew at the time of the attack, according to KPTV.

Dille, who is set to appear in court again next month, has several prior criminal charges including three counts of encouraging child sex abuse in the first degree. Court records indicate he reached a deal that resulted in a number of other charges being dismissed, as reported by the Albany Democrat Herald.

Sentencing in that case resulted a prison term of more than five years.

He was also convicted both last year and this year on two separate charges of failing to report as a sex offender.

As of the latest reports available, Dille remained behind bars with bail set at $250,000.

A sheriff’s office statement included a solicitation for information from anyone in the public with information relevant to this case or regarding additional possible victims.
