Veteran deputy sexually assaults girlfriend’s 14-year-old daughter, abuses 12-year-old girl at pool: Cops

Authorities in Illinois say a fellow law enforcement officer is facing criminal charges related to the sexual assault of two juveniles.

According to the New York Post, one of the alleged victims is the 14-year-old daughter of his girlfriend.

Police say 43-year-old Luke Hatzipetros entered the girl’s bedroom last month and touched her inappropriately at three different times.

Another alleged victim has also shared her claim that he similarly abused her when she was 12 years old.

The suspect was identified was a Cook County Sheriff’s Office deputy for 18 years prior to his arrest.

A spokesperson said the agency “is cooperating fully with the investigation” into Hatzipetros, who was “de-deputized” following his arrest.

He remained on the payroll as of the latest updates available, Cara Smith said, adding that she “would anticipate that he will ultimately be suspended without pay.”

According to the statement, investigators had been looking into allegations against the suspect for about a week before he was locked up.

“We had been working with Chicago Police Department for several days prior to that and, in addition, ensuring the orders of protection were served on him,” Smith said.

After turning himself into authorities on Saturday, he appeared in court the next day and a judge denied bail.

Hatzipetros is set to appear in court next week for a bond hearing.

He is expected to be charged with criminal counts including sexual assault and aggravated criminal sexual abuse, as reported by WBBM.
