Woman hits mom, threatens dad with knife and ransacks their home when they won’t take her to Outback Steakhouse: Cops

Authorities in Florida say a woman attacked her parents over a dispute about dinner last week.

According to the Miami Herald, 28-year-old Deana Michelle Seltzer was arrested following the incident on Wednesday. Police believe the argument began when the suspect asked her mother if they could go to a Lake Worth restaurant.

When the elder woman told her daughter they would not be dining at the Outback Steakhouse on Lantana Road, Seltzer allegedly punched her multiple times before engaging in even more violence and destruction.

Police say she threatened her father’s life, grabbing a knife and chasing him when he attempted to come between the mother and daughter.

Officers were dispatched to the scene and reportedly found the residence in disarray, as reported by WPLG.

According to an arrest report, the suspect “went around the house flipping recliners and tearing up other random … furniture inside the home.”

Officials say a glass dining table had been toppled with broken glass littering the floor. Reports indicate a large knife was also found on a counter in the kitchen.

Seltzer was arrested at the scene and released the following day, according to the Palm Beach Sheriff’s Office. She is expected to face criminal charges including two counts of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon without the intent to kill, battery on a person age 65 or older, and battery by touch or strike.

In addition to a judge’s order that she undergo a mental health exam, she was instructed to avoid weapons, drugs and alcohol as terms of her release from jail.
