Colorado home where Chris Watts murdered pregnant wife and young daughters will be auctioned off

The Frederick, Colorado, home where Chris Watts killed his pregnant wife Shannan and two daughters is set to be auctioned off this spring.

The Denver Channel reports that the home on Saratoga Trail is scheduled to be auctioned on April 17. The report cites real-estate website Zillow.com in estimating the value of the home at $511,000. The home now has an unpaid principal of $349,938.09. At the time of the murders, Chris and Shanann Watts were reportedly behind on mortgage payments.

The home has become well-known in the area as the site of one of the most notorious murders in Colorado’s history. Shannan Watts was 15 weeks pregnant when she and her 3- and 4-year-old daughters went missing in mid-August. Later that same week, Watts was arrested and charged with their murders. He initially claimed that he had killed Shannan in a rage after seeing her strangling their daughters via a baby monitor in their home, but ultimately pleaded guilty in November to all three killings, sparing him the death penalty.

Watts is now serving multiple life sentences without the possibility of parole.
