BREAKING: 5 dead in mass shooting at Florida bank; gunman called police himself

A gunman opened fire at a Florida bank on Wednesday, killing five people before contacting authorities himself to report the shooting.

ABC News reports that police in Sebring responded to the gunman’s self-report of shots fired at SunTrust Bank at about 12:30 p.m. on Wednesday.

The suspect, identified as Zephen Xaver, 21, reportedly contacted authorities to report the gunfire, and barricaded himself in the building once officers arrived. The suspect eventually surrendered.

The identities of the victims have not been disclosed, and it is not known how many people were injured.

According the ABC News report, police said there is no threat in the area.
