A Tennessee girl who disappeared over two weeks ago has been found safe, according to authorities.
ABC 6 reports that the 14-year-old Monroe County girl Savannah Pruittwas located in Wisconsin on Thursday. The news comes shortly after her adoptive father, Randall Lee Pruitt, 41, was arrested and charged with rape on Thursday afternoon.
On Thursday night, authorities said the rape charge is not in connection with the girl’s disappearance, but is related to the case.
“We don’t believe at this time he has any connection to her running away or missing,” Monroe County Sheriff, Tommy Jones, said.
Additional people are involved in her disappearance and more people are expected to be charged in the case, officials added.
As CrimeOnline previously reported, the teen was last seen on January 13 at her family home in Madisonville, Tennessee, at around 11 p.m. Her family claimed they hadn’t heard from her since. It’s still unclear why or how she ended up in Wisconsin or whether she has ties there.
“She is safe, she is in custody so that’s a very good ending to this,” MCSO officials added. “She’s doing fine.”
The story continues to develop. Check back with CrimeOnline as additional details become available.
