Teacher sends student nude selfies on Snapchat, suggests they play ‘naked hide and seek’: Cops

Authorities in North Dakota say a 24-year-old high school teacher has been arrested on suspicion of sending at least one teen student naked photos of herself and other inappropriate communications.

According to the New York Post, investigators became aware of the allegations in recent weeks, reportedly after a 17-year-old student at Beulah High School bragged about possessing the incriminating images.

Police reports claim the student told others at the school that he could “get the math teacher in trouble for pictures that she had sent him.”

After detectives began investigating the claims against Kelsie Laura Schmidt, she was arrested. An affidavit submitted in connection with the case indicates she has acknowledged sending photos to the student and has since quit her position at the school.

As of the latest updates available, she was free after posting $10,000 bond. Her attorney issued a statement indicating he was still familiarizing himself with the facts of the case, according to People.

“This is a very unfortunate situation for everyone,” Tom Dickson said. “But it is a very serious allegation and we are treating is very seriously.”

Court records show Schmidt is set to appear in court later this month on a charge of luring minors by computer or other means.

Investigators report that the teen spoke to police regarding the allegations, claiming he had been receiving the social media communications since August.

Schmidt allegedly uploaded the images to Snapchat and shared them with the student. In addition to nude images, police say she included a caption in one photo that the juvenile recipient should “get a group and play naked hide and seek.”

Superintendent Travis Jordan issued a statement in which he confirmed this was Schmidt’s first year as a teacher in the district, as reported by the Grand Forks Herald.
