College student shot three times, robbed and carjacked in broad daylight: Police

An 18-year-old Georgia College and State University student was shot three times before another teen robbed him and stole his car on Monday, police say.

Macon Telegraph reports that 19-year-old Maquavious Malike Hall is accused of shooting college student Lawson Deloach on Monday afternoon, at around 1 p.m. The incident occurred a few miles from Deloach’s school, off of Barrows Ferry Road in Milledgeville.

Police said after Hall shot the victim three times, he stole his Deloach’s 2012 black Toyota Tundra. Later that day, the suspect wrecked the car nearby and tried to escape, but a passerby saw him and called police. Authorities nabbed the suspect hiding in a wooded area.

Deloach  is expected to survive. He’s in the hospital recovering.

Meanwhile, Hall is behind bars facing a slew of felony charges. He’s been charged with motor vehicle hijacking, aggravated assault, and possession of a firearm in the commission of a crime. Police said additional charges are pending.
